Dolphin recently travelled to Merseyside to carry out a job at the beautiful Bidston Observatory, a grade II listed building in Birkenhead.
The observatory, which dates back over 150 years, sits proudly on the ridge of the hill, overlooking the Windmill Park Wood and Bidson Village. It is also the site of some important scientific discoveries over the past century.
Of course, it’s only right that such a beautiful building should have a kitchen to match. After being recently acquired by new owners, there are plans for the Observatory to become an arts hub and museum – and staff will need to be able to cater for visitors using state-of-the-art kitchen facilities.
Dolphin’s team supplied and installed a stainless steel canopy (extract type only) measuring 1500 long x 1200 deep x 600 high, complete with a 315 mixed flow fan and 250 dia ducting.
We also supplied and installed stainless steel wall cladding under the canopy (1.5 metres), and installed supply air via a window (9 inch venta axis fan with speed controller).
Based in Sheffield, Dolphin Fabrications design, supply and install bespoke catering fabrications across the UK. We use high-quality stainless steel, continuing Sheffield’s proud reputation as ‘the Steel City’.
